I agree that discretion is in order. My take is that ax-grinding is not criticism, constructive or otherwise.

my 2 cents: this site is no place for slanderous remarks. This is supposed to be a professional website. I didn't get a chance to read the stuff that was taken down...but if it did include personal and/or client sensitive material...we HAD to take it down from a purely legal viewpoint. ...not too different from when eBay removes feedback from it's website when it's against policy.

Constructive criticism is good and bad just like constructive praise is good and bad. It shows us that what we are doing is being noticed. How often do we assume what we are doing is ok with others because "no news is good news". I for one, don't agree with this perspective and prefer that some be vocal back to me in some sense (verbal, written, etc.). However, with feedback, one should also assume the role of accountability. Without it, one's comments are easily taken without merit. If you have something good to say, give someone the chance to say "thank you". Likewise, if you have a differing opinion or criticism, please allow for a rebuttal to your perspective. All I ask is that you give me/us a chance to speak back to you. Thanks.
